What is The Outside View?

The Outside View is a free written read of your business, four to five pages, researched only from public sources. It covers how you come across, where you sit in your market, whether you get found, what your filed accounts say, and the three things we would deal with first. It is written by a person, not generated.

Do you need access to my accounts?

No. Everything comes from public sources only. Your website, Companies House, your marketplace and what is openly searchable. We never see your books, your bank or anything you have not published. You send a company name and a web address and nothing else.

Because it is the honest way to show what we are like to work with. You get a real piece of work and judge it on its own terms rather than sitting through someone telling you how good they are. If you file it and never call, that is fine and we will not chase you.

How is The Outside View different from the Where Are You At review?

The Outside View is free and built entirely from outside the business, from public information. The Where Are You At review is a paid engagement at £3,000 where we come inside, look at your actual numbers, systems and team under NDA, fix a few things while we are there, and hand you a roadmap. The first is a read. The second is a review.

Why we bother

Somebody signed the lease. Somebody gave the personal guarantee, made payroll in a bad month, and took the call at eleven at night. That was you, and nobody hands out medals for it.

Most owners end up with a job they cannot leave, when what they were building was supposed to be worth something. We think that is the wrong way round. Less risk sitting on one person. More reward for the one carrying it.

An asset, not a job

A business that only works when you are standing in it is a job with extra risk. A business that runs, and can be described to somebody else, and keeps producing cash without you there, is worth something.

That difference is built over years and measured once, at the end. It is the whole reason we do this work, and it is why the first read is free.
